Utz Weitzel is Professor of Finance at the VU Amsterdam and at Radboud University. He is a Research Fellow at the Tinbergen Institute. Previously he was Professor of Finance at Utrecht University. He received a PhD from the Humboldt-University Berlin, was a post-doc at the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute of Economics. Currently, he is head of the department of Finance at the VU and director of the Society for Experimental Finance.

In his research, Utz focuses on topics in experimental finance/economics and behavioral finance. His research is published in various journals, amongst others, in The Journal of Finance, The Review of Financial Studies, The Economic Journal, Experimental Economics, Management Science, Journal of Management, Journal of International Business Studies, and Journal of Business Venturing.
