USING BEHAVIOURAL INSIGHTS TO INFORM POLICIES TARGETING SINGLE-USE PLASTIC CONSUMPTION
Impact Area 1: Environmental Sustainability

The increasing use of single-use plastics has a large negative impact on the environment as well as on human health and the economy. Reducing plastic consumption is therefore an important step towards a more sustainable and healthy future. Therefore, many countries and international institutions have implemented various policies and bans to tackle this issue. Among others, informing the public and changing consumers’ behaviour are crucial interventions that accompany the implementation of policies or bans. In this project, we address the question how such behaviour-based interventions can be made more effective by using behavioural insights.
